Keep a living swimming system in balance

Natural and hybrid swimming ponds still need practical care. We service existing systems, review water and equipment, manage planted zones and help owners plan maintenance around the pond they actually have.

Practical care, not a generic package

Maintenance should follow the system

A planted swimming pond, a hybrid natural pool and an older converted system do not need identical visits. Equipment, bathing load, source water, surrounding vegetation, access and the owner’s routine all shape the useful scope.

We do not promise permanently clear water from a single visit. Weather, nutrients, debris, planting and ongoing management continue to influence a living waterbody.

What a visit may cover

The agreed scope depends on the system, season and condition. We separate ordinary servicing from investigation or larger improvement work so expectations and price remain clear.

01 · SYSTEM

Pumps, filters and circulation

Accessible equipment, flow paths, skimmers and treatment stages can be checked, cleaned or flagged for repair where included in the agreed visit.

02 · WATER

Condition and likely pressures

We review visible clarity, algae, debris, source water, runoff and use history. Specialist testing or deeper diagnosis is agreed separately where it would change the decision.

03 · PLANTING

Regeneration zones and margins

Seasonal thinning, removal or replanting may improve access, circulation and nutrient management without stripping useful habitat from the pond.

04 · ROUTINE

A manageable care plan

We can identify owner tasks, suitable seasonal checks and where professional help is worthwhile. Ongoing visits are proposed after the first review rather than sold as a fixed package.

Before we visit

Send the information that makes the first visit useful

We start with photographs and a short description. If routine maintenance is appropriate, we can agree the likely scope, travel and starting cost. If the pond has a more involved fault, leakage concern or upgrade requirement, we will explain why assessment is the better route.

  • Location and approximate swimming-pond dimensions
  • Recent photographs of the whole pond and plant room
  • Pump, filter and treatment-system details if known
  • What has changed and when the system was last serviced
  • Access, power, water and any fish or wildlife constraints

A clear route from enquiry to ongoing care

Routine servicing is quoted around the work that is actually useful. A larger problem is not disguised as a cheap service visit.

01 · ENQUIRY

Show us the pond

Send photographs, location, dimensions, equipment and the main maintenance concern.

02 · SCOPE

Agree the visit

We confirm whether routine servicing is suitable and set out the likely work, travel and price basis.

03 · SERVICE

Work to priorities

The agreed system, water and planting tasks are completed within the practical limits of the visit.

04 · NEXT STEPS

Plan future care

We explain owner actions, further repairs and an appropriate seasonal or ongoing schedule where useful.

Pricing and diagnosis

Routine maintenance and technical assessment are different services

Routine maintenance work typically starts from around £450 including VAT, subject to travel, access, pond size and the tasks agreed. We confirm the basis before booking rather than publishing fixed packages that may not fit the system.

When assessment is the better route

  • Complex filtration, recurring water-quality failure, leakage, structural concerns or significant upgrades may need professional assessment from £500 + VAT.
  • The assessment is scoped separately and is not represented as a routine maintenance visit.
  • A £250 + VAT credit applies only to qualifying construction or refurbishment of at least £10,000 + VAT commissioned within six months—not to routine servicing.
  • Laboratory analysis, intrusive opening-up, electrical work, replacement equipment and waste disposal are included only when expressly agreed.

Useful questions

Before arranging a service

Do natural swimming ponds need maintenance?

Yes. They avoid a conventional chlorinated-pool regime, but plants, debris, nutrients, circulation and equipment still need management. The level varies with the system and site.

Can you service a pond built by another company?

Yes, subject to the system, access and available information. Original drawings, manuals and service history are helpful but not essential for an initial review.

How often should the pond be serviced?

There is no universal schedule. Many owners benefit from at least an annual professional check, while more complex or heavily used systems may need seasonal support.

Will one visit fix green water or blanketweed?

It may improve conditions, but recurring problems can involve several pressures. We avoid guaranteeing a lasting result until likely causes and the continuing maintenance routine are understood.

Do you supply replacement pumps and filtration?

We can recommend and supply suitable components where replacement is justified. Equipment, installation and electrical certification are priced separately from a routine service unless expressly included.

Start with photographs and the system history

Tell us where the pond is, what equipment it uses, what has changed and what you want help maintaining. We will direct you to routine servicing, assessment or refurbishment as appropriate.
