We recently refurbished and installed a fish tank for Jayne’s Cafe in Princetown. The Juwel aquarium is 4 ft by 1 ft by 1 ft, with a built in internal filter and T5 fluorescent bulbs. It has a section of community tropical fish. These include Angel Fish (Pterophyllum leopoldi), Buanos Aires Tetras (Hyphessobrycon anisitsi), Panda Corys (Corydoras panda) and Harlequin Rasbora (Trigonostigma heteromorpha). The plants include Crypto (Cryptocoryne wendtii), Amazon Sword (Echinodorus amazonicus) and Java Fern (Microsorum pteropus).
Another client- who hires us to routinely carry out aquarium maintenance was moving house. He wanted to upgrade to a marine fish tank, in order to enjoy reef fish and a live coral. We offer an aquarium removal service for instances such as the above. This in turn left their current tank looking for a new home. We kept all the fish in a holding tank at our aquatic premises in Dartmoor and re-themed the aquarium.
As avid aquarium designers, we set about creating an aquarium landscape that’d be both alluring and mesmerising for staff and visitors alike, whilst creating the perfect environment for its inhabitants. We used slate and natural sand for the aquascape. We are always willing to create something a bit different so if you have any ideas that aren’t quite the norm do let us know.
Luckily for us as local residents, we are able to enjoy Jayne’s great food and beverages. All whilst keeping an eye on the fish tank and carrying out the associated weekly maintenance (such as water tests/changes, filter maintenance, glass cleaning and plant pruning) and equipment checks. It’s great to interact with the staff and public, discussing aquarium care and other fish keeping related issues.
“We have pets! Beautiful, mesmerising, time wasting fish! Thank you Nick and James and if any of you need anything fish related give these guys a shout, they are amazing!”
